Qualifications
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent
SKILLS: Accounts receivable knowledge, typing, basic medical terminology, excellent communcation skills
PREFERRED: Knowledge of insurance reimbursement methodologies Two years related hospital/medical collection experience
Duties
Research all credit balance accounts to determine appropriate refund Identify/correct account errors that result in overpayments. Calculate necessary adjustments, discounts, write-offs according to contract or department policy Idenify and document account if insurance has overpaid, and process refunds to appropriate payer/patient Notify management of recurring errors Maintain productivity numbers in compliance with department standard Provide customer service to carriers, patients and employees needing assistance on patient accounts Evaluate mail correspondence for refund requests QUIC buckets are requests received from patient and/or carriers for possible refunds Send correspondence to patients and carriers to expedite account resolution Review accounts for legal assistance Initiate appeals for improper refunds to patients and/or third party payers Other duties assigned by management
