Program for Women

One in four women experience severe depression, according to the National Mental Health Information Center. If you are one of those women, the Seay Behavioral Health Center's Program for Women at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano can give you new hope for alleviating your depression.

The program is designed to meet the unique needs of women suffering from depressive disorders including postpartum depression, loss of a child (including miscarriage) and hormone-related depression. You will receive the support and comfort that comes from sharing with other women.

Professionals at the Seay Behavioral Health Center's Program for Women will help treat your depression through cognitive behavioral group therapy sessions and patient and family education. You'll receive the information, tools and support you need to return to your active daily life.

The program schedule is designed to help women balance treatment requirements with their work, education and home-life schedules. The group will meet three days a week for three hours at a time.

As with many illnesses, the earlier treatment begins for depression, the more effective it is. If you believe that you or a loved one could benefit from the Seay Behavioral Health Center's Program for Women, please call 972-981-8324 or your doctor for a referral to the program.

Doctors on the medical staff practice independently and are not employees or agents of the hospital.
