Physicians on the medical staff at Texas Health Plano use imaging technology advances to improve diagnostic accuracy and efficiency.
Highlights of the Imaging Department include:
- Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), which allows radiologists on the medical staff to review results on high-resolution computer monitors and also gives most off-site physicians rapid, remote access to test results for consultation when needed
- 16-slice and 64-slice GE Light Speed CT scanners, which produces cross-sectional images ("slices") that are reconstructed to form a complete, precise image
- The MRI system offers advanced diagnostic efficiency and high resolution images, including breast imaging.
- Digital mammography at the Women's Diagnostic Center, which involves less radiation than film mammography and enables improved image storage and electronic image transmission
- Bone densitometry, which allows for early diagnosis and treatment of osteoporosis
