Devra LeFevre, R.N.
Devra LeFevre, RNC-OB, has been a nurse at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Stephenville since the week after she graduated from nursing school 17 years ago. She is currently the director of Women's Services at the hospital, and says it is her co-workers that keep her satisfied in her work.
"The people I work with are fantastic," she says. "We have such a strong bond."
When asked about her longevity at the hospital, LeFevre is quick to point out the benefits of nursing at Texas Health.
"Here at Texas Health Stephenville, we consider ourselves family taking care of family. And by working with my colleagues at other Texas Health hospitals on various committees, I've found that to be true throughout the system," she says. "Plus, Texas Health offers so many opportunities for growth, such as the Mentor Program, tuition reimbursement and the career advancement program for bedside nurses. It really is a blessing to be a Texas Health nurse."

Nursing at Texas Health Resources is more than a science. It is more than an art. It is a calling characterized by compassion, purpose, meaning and respect.
Texas Health honors that calling by creating a Magnet(ic) work environment for nurses that promotes professional autonomy, nursing excellence and evidence-based practice. It is an environment where compassion — both for patients and each other — is standard operating procedure, based on the organization's Promise. This environment also provides a Texas Health nurse with competitive compensation, as well as a combination of benefits that is hard to beat.
A Texas Health nurse has a VOICE An active clinical practice model at our hospitals features unit based councils that empower nurses to shape their work environment. Managers with open doors, a well-defined grievance process, input solicited via surveys, meetings and performance evaluation all provide opportunities for the Texas Health nurse to be heard.
A Texas Health nurse has OPPORTUNITIES From the daVinci® system for robotic surgery to BrainSUITETM technology for intraoperative MRIs, Texas Health hospitals offer some of the most advanced technology available. Our nurses are on the forefront of learning advanced procedures and putting them into action. Plus, Texas Health nurses have the opportunity to actively participate in collaborative research, and the organization promotes enrichment through a wide range of educational opportunities, including on-site and on-line educational degree programs.
A Texas Health nurse has a FULLY LOADED CAREER TRACK The Nursing Career Advancement Program (NCAP) at Texas Health features a unique track that allows direct patient caregivers to advance in their careers while staying at the bedside. The program recognizes and financially rewards them for professional involvement and leadership, achievement and expertise. We also have rewarding advancement programs for managers and educators.
A Texas Health nurse has CHOICES With 14 different hospitals in the system, nurses can choose to work at urban or rural facilities, acute care or short-stay hospitals, and East Texas to North Texas locations. The ability to move within the system, while keeping the same benefits, gives nurses a level of flexibility that's hard to match.
A Texas Health nurse has a BOND Compassion begins with caring for each other, and Texas Health nurses are committed to developing relationships that go beyond their job duties. Teamwork, camaraderie, and effective interdisciplinary partnerships are the hallmarks of the Texas Health nursing community.
