Carrie McAdams, M.D., Leading Brain Imaging Study for Eating Disorder Patients The Eating Disorders Program of Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas is proud to announce that Dr. Carrie McAdams' ground-breaking research is now approved by our institutional review board. Her study will use advanced functional magnetic resonance imaging to view the brain in action. She is investigating the functional neuroanatomical basis of body image.
McAdams' study is exciting. Research is one of the four pillars of our eating disorders program, which also includes clinical excellence, training of professionals, and raising community awareness.
Vocera: 'Star Trek' Technology We are pleased to announce another technology update for our program. The staff now uses Vocera communication technology, which is wireless and attached to the lapel, similar to the communication devices on Star Trek. Staff can not only communicate with one another, but the technology permits connection to regular phones.
Water Yoga We have found yoga to be a powerful ally in the treatment of eating disorders, and have added a water yoga class to compliment the traditional yoga class we offer. Yoga instructor Chris Clarke states, "Yoga fundamentally supports integration of body and soul."

Nimisha Patel, R.D., L.C.S.W., Presents at the 10th Annual Elisa Project Symposium The Eating Disorders Program of Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas is proud to announce that Nimisha Patel, program dietitian, is presenting, "Do You Speak Eating Disorders?...Understanding the Role of Food and Eating Behaviors in Eating Disorders."
This program is designed to educate the community on eating disorders prevention and treatment.
Patel provides services to both our inpatient and outpatient programs, ensuring our patients receive excellent care, including individualized meal plans and the latest information on nutrition.
Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas — New Name We are pleased to announce our new name as of Jan. 1, 2009. Texas Health Resources has been the parent company of Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas for more than 10 years, and the name change reflects our heritage as part of the largest not-for-profit hospital system in north Texas.
