Clinical Practice Model

Clinical Practice Model (CPM) is at the core of nursing at Texas Health Resources. Standardized clinical practices have been established through CareConnect, Texas Health's electronic health record, and shared governance takes the form of unit-based councils. These councils involve frontline staff working together with leadership to share in decision making and provide and improve patient care, as well as to shape nurses' work environments. Unit-based councils address issues related to patient safety, clinical quality improvement, recruitment and retention, healthy work environments and patient satisfaction.

Texas Health nurses also have the opportunity to share their opinions and help shape decisions through focus groups, town hall meetings, electronic communications, hospital president meetings and talking directly with their managers.
