Success Stories

Mary Jo CampbellSince 1998, Mary Jo Campbell has had her annual mammogram on the Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth Mobile Health Unit. The 40-foot mobile health unit, made possible by the Bernard C. Alger Cancer Fund and the Doris Kupferle Mammography Fund, has provided both prevention and detection services for thousands of people in the community.

Campbell was diagnosed with breast cancer by a physician on the medical staff after her annual mammogram in 2000. A physician on the medical staff at Texas Health Fort Worth performed her surgery in February 2001.

"God has blessed me," Campbell said. "I didn't go through radiation and all of the caregivers have been so kind, so caring."

The mobile health unit's activities were keys to Campbell's diagnosis and probably helped save her life.

Thanks to the mobile health unit and the treatment by the physicians on the medical staff, Campbell has kept rolling right along.
