To meet the special health needs of children, the Women and Children Unit at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Hurst-Euless-Bedford is always close at hand for residents of Northeast Tarrant County. Here, pediatric specialists work closely with cardiologists, neurologists, otolaryngologists (ENTs) and surgeons to provide quality care.
A colorful, 10-bed unit provides specialized services for infants, children and adolescents. To ease the fears of children and parents, "Pre-Op Parties" are held twice a month to help prepare youngsters for surgery. Hospital and surgical procedures are explained in nonthreatening, "kid-friendly" language to ease stress and anxiety.
