Membership and Contact Information

Texas Health Finley Ewing Cardiovascular & Fitness Center Dallas offers a wide range of services for people of all fitness levels, abilities and health status. Whether you are rehabilitating from an illness or surgery or you are interested in increasing your fitness level, we may have a membership that's right for you. General Membership

General membership is designed for individuals who are seeking a wide range of fitness options and have no serious medical condition, which places them at increased risk during fitness activities. General membership includes:

  • Full use of facilities seven days a week, during operating hours
  • Access to all group exercise classes, including Yoga, Pilates and Aquacise, at no extra charge
  • Daily locker and towel service
  • Blood pressure and pulse checks on the main exercise floor and in the pool area
  • Availability of CPR-trained staff

Other services, such as massage, personal training, prenatal and postpartum classes, child care, cycling and Tai Chi are available for additional fees.

Supervised Membership

Supervised membership is designed for individuals who are interested in having some limited instruction in their exercise program or require special monitoring of fitness activities due to increased medical risk related to surgery or disease, such as heart attack, bypass surgery, angina, cardiac valve disorders or pulmonary disease. Many supervised members are graduates of one of our rehabilitation programs. Supervised membership includes:

  • Availability of Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and AED trained staff
  • Supervised warm-ups and cool-downs
  • Monthly EKGs
  • Exercise data cards with follow-up
  • An annual evaluation, with a copy sent to your attending physician
  • Oxygen saturation, blood pressure and pulse checks
  • Access to all amenities from 6:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday (These are times when ACLS trained staff are available.)
  • Daily locker and towel service

Other services, such as Massage, Personal Training, etc., are available for additional fees

Membership Fees and Payments

  • The initial fee is nonrefundable and nontransferable.
  • Memberships are available on a monthly, semi-annual or annual basis. Members paying for a full year in advance receive one month free. Members paying for six months in advance receive one-half month free.
  • Monthly maintenance fees are nonrefundable. Yearly fees can be refunded on a pro-rated basis.
  • All monthly maintenance fees are due on the first of each month and will be considered delinquent if received after the 10th of the month. Should the monthly maintenance fee lapse, you will have to pay the initial membership fee again.
  • Membership is automatically renewed yearly/semi-annually/monthly until formal written notification of cancellation is received.
  • Written cancellations must be received 30 days in advance by the Business Office.
  • You must notify the Business Office 30 days in advance to transfer from supervised membership to a general membership.
  • Monthly maintenance fees may be suspended for a period of one to six months for medical reasons only. A letter from a physician indicating the specific reason you are unable to exercise should be mailed directly to the Business Office. Members on medical leave may not use any part of the center or its services.
  • Temporary memberships are available for friends or relatives who are visiting on a short-term basis. The fee is $35 for a two-week period. Temporary memberships are available for a maximum of four weeks and may not be used as a substitute for regular membership.
  • A discounted membership rate is available for members working as a volunteer.

To become a member, please take the following steps:

  • Complete, sign and date the application and New Member Health Questionnaire.
  • If you marked any of the statements as true in section one of the Health Questionnaire, take the completed questionnaire and Medical Clearance Form to your physician.
  • If applying for a Family Membership, request and complete a Youth Consent and Release Form, and attach a copy of a birth certificate or driver's license for each child age 21 and under.
  • Return all completed and signed forms to the Information Center (or a membership representative) with your payment (your initial fee plus first month's dues or initial fee plus annual dues). You will receive a temporary membership card at that time. After three days, return to the center to have your photo made for your membership ID card.
  • Schedule a complimentary session with a Personal Trainer and get on the right track to a healthier lifestyle. Let us evaluate your fitness goals and help you develop a fitness strategy that gets results.

Fitness Center Rules and Guidelines

  • Members must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Photo IDs are requested by the Information Center staff each time you enter the center.
  • Employee assistance is available during all operating hours. A fitness specialist or exercise technician will be glad to help you with your fitness program and demonstrate use of the equipment. Do not hesitate to ask for help.
  • To allow time for showers and dressing, the activity areas and pool need to be vacated 15 minutes prior to closing.
  • Please observe a time limit of 20 minutes on all cardiovascular equipment.
  • Supervised classes and activities are given priority in designated areas. Schedules are posted.
  • Blood pressure checks are available at no charge to all members. Simply ask the fitness specialist or exercise technician on duty to check your blood pressure.
  • Management and employees reserve the right to deny admittance or escort anyone from the premises for failure to comply with center practices and guidelines.
  • The Fitness Center appreciates your acknowledgment and consideration of members who may have special needs, limitations and/or equipment.
  • Please allow members and patients requiring ambulation assistance devices (wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, etc.) to have priority in the handicap parking spaces.
  • The Fitness Center is proud to have a non-smoking, non-tobacco facility and grounds.

Guest Privileges

  • Your guests are welcome to use the center, as long as they are in your company. There is a $10 guest fee per visit. Please register your guest when you check in at the Information Center.
  • Guests who are 14 years of age or younger are allowed to use the facility on weekends only and must be directly supervised by a parent or legal guardian.

Pool

  • The center has a 25-yard, 5-lane lap pool that is shared by walkers, swimmers and exercise classes.
  • Group exercise classes have priority in the "class area" of the pool; however, a minimum of three lanes are available for walking or swimming during all operating hours.
  • The pool features a ramp for easy access, and the Fitness Center maintains a water temperature of 84 to 86 degrees Fahrenheit.

Racquetball Courts
Two racquetball courts are available by making reservations at the Information Center or at 214-345-4625. Court No. 1 is reserved on the half-hour, and court No. 2 is reserved on the hour.

Locker Rooms

  • The center features spacious men's and women's locker rooms. All members are provided with complimentary towels, shampoo, conditioner, lotion and hair dryers during their visit.
  • Daily use of lockers are provided free of charge. Permanent kit lockers are available to members at a fee of $15 per month. This fee can be paid monthly or annually.

Youth Guidelines
The facility and programs are designed for adults. Your assistance is requested in maintaining the following guidelines regarding youth:

  • Children 15 to 21 years of age, whose parents have a family membership, are considered youth members and may use the facilities at any time during operating hours.
  • Children 12 to 14 years of age, whose parents have a family membership, are considered youth members and may use the facility under the direct supervision of their parent or legal guardian after 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, and during weekend operating hours.
  • Children under 12 years of age, whose parents have a family membership, are considered youth members and may use the center on Saturdays and Sundays only. Parents must provide direct supervision, and children are asked to be respectful of other members.
  • A signed consent form and proof of age must be submitted to the Business Office for all youth members.
  • Youth members between 12 and 21 years of age will receive a membership card to present when entering the facility. At age 22, an independent membership must be purchased.
  • The Fitness Center does not allow unsupervised children to wait in the lobby or on the deck at the pool while parents complete their activity.

Guidelines for Etiquette and Safety

  • Please stow gym bags, purses and other belongings in a locker, rather than carrying them to the floor.
  • Opened-toed shoes are not allowed on the floor. Closed-toed shoes are required.
  • Avoid standing on the track.
  • Walking three abreast is not allowed on the track.
  • Use caution when crossing the track. Stop, look and listen before crossing.
  • Share equipment with others between sets.
  • Replace equipment as you found it; place mats, weights, balls and other equipment back to designated location.
  • Place weights down gently, without a crash.
  • Use your towel to wipe-off pads, seat, controls and rails of equipment when you are done.
  • Please pick up after yourself (i.e. cups, Kleenex, towels, etc.)
  • Magazines and magazine racks are available for your use during workouts, please return them to the designated areas so that others may enjoy them.
  • Profanity is not acceptable.
  • Treat equipment like it is your own.
  • Report malfunctioning equipment to the floor staff.
  • Proper attire (shirts) required.

Pool Guidelines for Etiquette and Safety

  • Staff are on duty at all times.
  • Members are encouraged to shower and use the restroom before entering the pool.
  • Appropriate swim attire required. Water shoes are recommended.
  • Be flexible, you may have to share a lane with several people. 
  • No diving or jumping: 4-foot pool.
  • Group classes have priority in ramp lane.
  • Lanes will be adjusted to accommodate group class size.
  • Place equipment in designated drying area located outside equipment room.
  • Profanity is not acceptable.
  • Running not allowed on pool deck.
  • Pool closes 15 minutes before facility.
  • Therapy pool is not open to general members.
