 The PHorum of Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas is a dynamic membership organization, which was created in 1987 as a community outreach opportunity to develop health awareness in the community and to foster community partners within a broad spectrum of organizations across the area.
PHorum members are local business and civic leaders who benefit from and contribute to interaction with Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas trustees, senior management and hospital employees. These groups join together, exchanging information, ideas and support to enhance Texas Health Dallas' efforts to improve the health of the people in our communities. One of the many outreach opportunities of the Dallas PHorum is the coordination of the annual HeartBeat 5K Race and Healthy Heart Fair.
Over many successful years, the HeartBeat 5K has raised more than $700,000 for the community outreach efforts of Texas Health Dallas. Money raised from this event goes to support the children and families in the Vickery Meadow neighborhood, providing an after-school program, immunization clinics, playgrounds, YMCA soccer programs, summer camps and much more.

Membership in the Dallas PHorum is by invitation only and limited to 100 members. During the membership year, PHorum members attend four educational lectures at lunch, which feature physicians on the medical staff of Texas Health Dallas and hospital administrators. PHorum members also invite representatives from the Vickery Meadow neighborhood to share news, information and updates of their community organizations. Members host and attend an annual social event around the holidays for the children living in Vickery Meadow.
To become a member of the Dallas PHorum, you must be nominated by a PHorum member, Texas Health Resources trustee or hospital senior management. PHorum members must pay annual dues of $250, which includes HeartBeat 5K race entries for personal distribution. An RSVP is required for all PHorum events.
