The Texas Health Harris Methodist Hurst-Euless-Bedford Women's Advisory Board was formed in 1991 to serve as an advocacy group for the health-care needs of area women and their families. The board is made up of local business women and community leaders who meet quarterly to stay current on health-care topics proposed in an annual survey.
The board served in an advisory capacity when Texas Health Harris Methodist HEB implemented its Sexual Assault Assistance program and the members have also served as volunteer educators on the importance of breast self-exams. The board also played a role in establishing the Women's Retreat, which has since been adopted as a system-wide program.
