Hospitalists, physicians who specialize in the care of hospitalized patients, are part of the medical staff at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Stephenville.
Services provided include:
- Admission and care of patients of physicians who specialize solely in office practice
- Care of patients admitted through the Emergency Room who elect to have a hospitalist take care of them in lieu of another physician on the medical staff
- Consultation with other physicians on the medical staff in areas of the hospitalist's knowledge
Hospitalists on the medical staff at Texas Health Stephenville also provide a consistency of care when a patient is admitted to the hospital more than once. Because a hospitalist on the medical staff only does inpatient work, he or she will see the same kinds of cases more often than physicians who are not hospital based.
