Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Southwest Fort Worth is home to a full-service, CLIA-certified (through Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services), CAP-accredited clinical laboratory. Anatomical and clinical pathologists on the medical staff and certified medical technologists provide services for the hospital including hematology, urinalysis, serology, chemistry, microbiology, histology and surgical pathology. Lab services offered through the hospital are available to patients 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The laboratory has been accredited by The Joint Commission (TJC) since the hospital's opening in 1987, signifying a commitment to safe, quality care for patients. In 2003, the lab was expanded to 7,674 square feet and was moved closer to the Emergency Department.
