Otolaryngology (Ear, Nose and Throat)

When your toddler is experiencing multiple ear infections, your sinuses are driving you crazy, or a family member's tonsils need to come out, you'll be relieved to know that otolaryngology, otherwise known as ear, nose and throat (ENT) services, is available at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Azle. Services can be provided for adults and children six months and older.

Otolaryngology is the branch of medicine that specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of ear, nose, throat, and head and neck disorders. According to the American Academy of Otolaryngology, ENT specialists differ from many physicians in that they are trained in both medicine and surgery. Otolaryngologists do not need to refer patients to other physicians when ear, nose, throat, or head/neck surgery is needed and, therefore, can offer appropriate care for each individual patient.

The following otolaryngology surgeries are available:

  • Tonsillectomy
  • Adenoidectomy
  • Ear tube surgery
  • Sinus surgeries, including endoscopic surgery for nasal and sinus problems, which eliminates the need for an external incision and offers greater precision.
