30-Minute Promise
Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano understands that a long wait in the Emergency Room can be stressful and inconvenient. That's why the hospital has developed a 30-Minute Promise, a commitment that every patient in the emergency room is seen by a physician within 30 minutes of check-in.*

Located at West Parker Road and the Dallas North Tollway, the Texas Health Plano emergency room is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, providing services for patients of all ages. Upon arrival, patients are greeted by a nurse who performs a brief evaluation to identify those with the most urgent needs. Some fast-track patients with lower acuity complaints may be seen by a physician assistant.

Although wait-times vary depending on the seriousness of a patient's condition, the hospital's 30-Minute Promise alleviates the worry that comes with a long wait.

Convenience and Comfort
Beyond the Texas Health Plano 30-Minute Promise, patients appreciate the extra conveniences and comforts in the hospital's emergency room:

  • All private rooms
  • Flat panel televisions
  • Free Wi-Fi

Equipped to Care
With 52 beds and more than 41,000 patient-visits a year, the emergency room at Texas Health Plano is well-equipped and one of the largest in Collin County. Board-certified physicians and registered nurses provide personalized care for emergency room patients, who also have access to the specialty services of Texas Health Plano, a 368-bed hospital recognized for performance excellence and outstanding nursing care.

Texas Health Plano received the 2008 Texas Award for Performance Excellence (T.A.P.E.), the state's highest honor for quality and organizational performance. It was the first health care facility in Collin County to receive this prestigious honor and the fourth in Texas. In addition, Texas Health Plano has received Magnet designation for excellence in nursing — the nation's highest such honor — from the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

Emergency room patients at Texas Health Plano give consistent praise for their care. In survey after survey, patients state that their care is excellent or extraordinary.

*The 30-Minute Promise is not a guarantee. Natural disasters and other unforeseen circumstances may increase wait-times. Doctors and physician assistants on the medical staff practice independently and are not employees or agents of the hospital.
