Urinary Incontinence

"I get up and go to the bathroom 5 to 6 times a night."
"I am having urine leakage with sneezing."
"I have accidents trying to make it to the bathroom in time."

Does this sound familiar to you? If so, you may be suffering from urinary incontinence and/ or overactive bladder. The physical therapy department at Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital provides specialized treatment for these conditions. An evaluation of the musculoskeletal system, along with a pelvic floor muscle exam, is performed to develop your personalized treatment program. This treatment usually consists of pelvic floor exercises (Kegel's) and behavioral modifications to control your symptoms. A conservative option for treatment can also include the use of biofeedback. This technique provides the patient with vital information needed to identify and help strengthen pelvic floor muscles.

If you are having bladder control problems, don't suffer in silence. Talk to your doctor or any health professional. There are treatments that can help you return to a more active lifestyle.
