Inpatient Unit

Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth provides comprehensive inpatient oncology services to cancer patients. The 35-bed oncology unit is private and designed to provide a comforting atmosphere for patients and their family.

The inpatient unit is a specialized treatment facility with nurses and skilled ancillary employees. Nurses manage the care of patients receiving radiation, complex chemotherapy regimens, pain control and supportive care through the end of life.

An interdisciplinary team coordinates care of cancer patients and families based on their unique needs. Led by physicians on the medical staff, the team includes chaplains, social workers, dietitians, oncology nurse specialists, case managers and oncology nurses.

A major provider of oncology services in the community, Texas Health Fort Worth also has agreements with local hospices to provide continued support during hospitalizations.

Cancer Health Kiosk
Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth is the fifth hospital in the nation to offer the Cancer Health Kiosk to aid cancer patients and their families. The user-friendly kiosk is available in both Engligh and Spanish and uses a touch screen to guide patients through educational information about cancer diagnosis, medication, treatment options and more. The Cancer Health Kiosk is housed on the 7th floor of Harris tower and was made possible through generous donations by the Texas Health Harris Methodist Foundation and the McWhorter family.
