Seay Behavioral Health Center
Chemical Dependency Services

If chemical dependency or addiction has robbed you of your hope, confidence, relationships or ability to cope with life, the Seay Behavioral Health Center at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano offers programs that can help you regain control of your life. These programs address the physical, emotional, spiritual and interpersonal needs of recovering individuals in a safe, supportive and structured environment.

Inpatient Chemical Dependency Program
The goals of the program are to provide medically managed detoxification and help patients achieve sobriety through a therapeutic treatment program which is centered around the 12-step philosophy.

The program consists of:

  • A multidisciplinary team directed by a board-certified psychiatrist who will provide a comprehensive assessment and treatment plan for each patient.
  • Acute, medical detoxification where each patient is monitored 24 hours a day.
  • Group, family therapy and education are provided. These treatment modalities focus on the disease concept, relapse prevention, medication education, relationship issues, behavioral issues and discharge planning.
  • Medically managed detoxification is often the first step in moving forward towards a productive, fulfilling and sober life.

In addition to Inpatient Chemical Dependency Services, the Seay Behavioral Health Center offers an intensive outpatient program.

This program is designed for individuals who do not require inpatient treatment services but need more intensive treatment than individual therapy. The program addresses the physical, emotional, spiritual and interpersonal needs of individuals coping with addiction. It provides a safe place to talk, develop problem solving skills and learn relapse prevention skills.

Featuring individualized treatment plans for patients, the program provides three hours of treatment at least three times a week. Each patient is expected to attend 12-step recovery meetings in their communities.

The Chemical Dependency Programs provide assessment and ongoing care management for those who may also have underlying or previously undiagnosed mood disorders, such as depression.
