Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Southwest Fort Worth Names New Finance Director|
FORT WORTH, Texas — Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Southwest Fort Worth administrators appointed Charlotte Ward, CPA MBA, as the new finance director serving in the role of the finance officer for the hospital. Ward brings 20 years of accounting experience to the position, including 15 years supporting health care administration.
Ward served as the hospital’s decision support/ finance manager and the entity compliance officer since 2008. In her new role, Ward will oversee all hospital financial activities and budget. She will also have management responsibility for admissions, scheduling, health information services, and document compliance departments.
Before joining Texas Health Southwest, Ward was the director of decision support for Parkland Memorial Health and Hospital System Prior to that, she held analyst and accounting roles at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth from 1995 to 2001. She was a contract accountant for New Day of America, Inc. and Coopers & Lybrand from 1991-94.
Ward completed a bachelor’s degree in business at Vanderbilt University in 1977. She earned a master's in business adminstration from Texas Christian University in 1983 and passed the Certified Public Accountant exam that same year.
She has served as the president of the Texas Association for Healthcare Financial Administration and on the board of directors and finance committee for CareFlite. She is a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association.
