Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Kaufman 5K Raises Funds for Community
05/31/2011

KAUFMAN, Texas — More than 150 local residents participated in Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Kaufman’s annual Spring Into Action 5K in March. The fun run, which included child-safety classes for local parents, raised $7,860 to help fund the hospital’s child car-safety initiative.

The Child Automobile Safety Initiative is an ongoing educational program to teach local parents about the proper use of car safety seats and provide other safety tips when traveling with children.

As part of the safety initiative, car seat checkups will be held at the hospital on the fourth Saturday of each month for local parents wanting more information about travel safety. The Child Automobile Safety Initiative also provides free seats to parents whose seats do not meet national safety guidelines.

For more information, parents can call 1-877-THR-WELL.
