PLANO, Texas — Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano is proud to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the sexual assault nurse examiners (SANE) program in Collin County. At Texas Health Plano, the SANE program operates out of the Serenity Suite.

The Serenity Suite is a treatment space that helps individuals seeking treatment and allows sexual assault nurse examiners to perform health care services for victims of sexual assault.

“Our program is one that we certainly hope people will never need,” said Judy Common, RN, CA/CP, SANE nurse. “But when adults or children do experience sexual assaults having a trained examiner is so important. Our space at the hospital allows us to take care of the whole patient — mind, body and spirit — rather than treating just the physical symptoms of abuse.”
