Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Azle Recognized in National Performance Project|
AZLE, Texas — Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Azle has been recognized as a top performer in a nationwide performance improvement project for their efforts in saving lives, safely reducing the cost of care and delivering the most reliable and effective care.
Texas Health Azle was among 93 other health care organizations nationwide recognized for their achievement in the QUEST: High Performing Hospitals collaborative. Overseen by the Premier Inc. health care alliance, QUEST is a voluntary project that enables Texas Health hospitals to compare their quality results with 250 hospitals nationwide. Texas Health Azle has participated for all three years of the project.
“Texas Health Azle joined QUEST to compete against the best of the best hospitals that participate with Premier nationwide toward our common goal of improving quality and patient safety,” said Winjie Tang Miao, president of the hospital. “Three years of participation in QUEST has given our hospital the opportunity to evaluate our progress and see how we compare with other quality improvement-minded health care providers.”
Texas Health Azle was recognized for achieving top performance in the following goals:
- Save lives: Eliminate avoidable hospital mortalities.
- Safely reduce the cost of care: Reduce the costs for each patient's hospitalization.
- Deliver the most reliable and effective care: Ensure that patients receive every recommended evidence-based care measure.
“Texas Health Azle is dedicated to continuous quality improvement,” said Miao. “We’re encouraged by the way our work with other high-performing hospitals has helped us reach higher levels of performance in safety, quality, cost, satisfaction and cost of care.”
