Texas Health Ben Hogan Sports Medicine Offers Residency Programs for Physical Therapists, Athletic Trainers
06/29/2011

FORT WORTH, Texas — Known for its commitment to keeping North Texas athletes healthy, Texas Health Ben Hogan Sports Medicine will now expand its program to include an educational component. Beginning July 2011, Texas Health Sports Medicine will offer a 12-month post-professional athletic training and sports physical therapy residency program.

Both programs will focus on preparing residents as patient care providers with skills and knowledge necessary for advanced clinical practice. The curriculum will consist of a post-professional clinical and lecture format learning that is designed to advance the resident’s level of expertise in examination, evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis, intervention and management of patients’ symptoms.

“Texas Health Sports Medicine is deeply committed not only to patient care but also to developing the next generation of physical therapists and athletic trainers. These residency programs will allow us to extend our reach into the community by growing, ultimately providing more competent and comprehensive care in the area of sports medicine,” said Brian Conway, director of Texas Health Ben Hogan Sports Medicine.
