Online Check-In for Emergency Visits Now Available at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Cleburne|
CLEBURNE, Texas — Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Cleburne has introduced a more efficient way to use the emergency department for minor ailments and injuries. Residents in Cleburne and the surrounding communities can hold their place in the emergency room line at InQuickER.com and designate a time to arrive and be seen by a healthcare professional within 15 minutes or less. The new service is only intended for minor illnesses and ailments.
InQuickER is not an appointment or reservation setting service, as the nature of ER triage does not allow for the scheduling of medical treatment. Rather, the InQuickER system estimates treatment times based on patient traffic conditions and allows its users to wait in line from home instead of in the waiting room. InQuickER users do not skip the ER waiting line, nor will they be seen ahead of individuals in the waiting room.
“Texas Health Cleburne is always looking for ways to improve access to our services,” said Blake Kretz, FACHE, president of the hospital. “One area where we can provide more efficiency is for our patients who don’t have a life-threatening situation but still need to be seen in the emergency department. This service will be convenient for busy people, from moms managing their kids’ schedules to individuals who can’t get off work to see a doctor.”
In order to be seen by a healthcare professional within 15 minutes, InQuickER users must provide all requested information during the online check-in process and arrive at Texas Health Cleburne promptly at their projected treatment time. In the event of a delay, InQuickER users are sent real-time notifications via SMS text message and email.
“This new service allows individuals with non-life threatening conditions to wait at home rather than in our waiting room,” Kretz added. “The InQuickER system is designed to filter certain symptom keywords that may indicate a life-threatening medical condition, in addition to a review of a user’s symptoms by a healthcare professional at Texas Health Cleburne. Users indicating a life-threatening medical condition are prompted to dial 911 or go immediately to the nearest emergency room.”
