Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital Appoints New Chief Nursing Officer

ARLINGTON, Texas — Administrators at Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital appointed Lori Donovan R.N., B.S.N., M.S.N., CNOR, as the new chief nursing officer. Donovan has served as interim chief nursing officer since April and brings seven years of nursing leadership experience to the position.

In her new role, Donovan will oversee the strategic, operational, clinical, and financial performance of the hospital’s nursing services.

Donovan was named the hospital’s administrative director of surgical services in 2006, and played an instrumental role in the opening of the Vandergriff Surgical Tower and Texas Health Heart & Vascular Hospital Arlington, a physician-led specialty hospital on the campus of Texas Health Arlington Memorial. Before that, she served as a surgical services nurse manager at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Hurst-Euless-Bedford.

Donovan earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Wisconsin in Eau Claire, Wis., in 1986 and a master’s degree in nursing administration from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2006. She is a member of The Association of periOperative Registered Nurses, the Texas Nursing Association and the Texas Council of periOperative Registered Nurses. She was recognized as a "Great 100 Nurse" by the Texas Nurses Association in 2005. She is passionate about health and wellness and competes in Ironman Triathlons in her spare time.
