Texas Health Seay Behavioral Center is First in Collin County to Offer Free Walk-In Assessments|
PLANO, Texas — For families and many individuals dealing with behavioral health illnesses, such as depression and addiction, it can be hard to know where to go for help.
That’s why the Seay Behavioral Center at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano has started offering free assessments in its facility. Texas Health is the only provider in Collin County to offer free, walk-in assessments. The assessments will be provided by a clinician on weekdays between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Previously, individuals had to visit the emergency room for the assessment, even if they were referred by a physician. Now physicians may also refer individuals directly to the Seay Center. Individuals may also choose to seek an assessment without a referral. Appointments are also available, but are not required.
“There is a tremendous need for this service in Collin County and we are proud to be providing it,” said Ramona Osburn, administrative director of the program. “People in crisis need a safe place to go for help and we offer that with our assessments and wide range of programs.”
The Seay Center treats individuals age 12 and older for behavioral health problems such as anxiety, alcohol and drug dependency, depression and other mood problems, family problems, and bipolar disorder. The center offers inpatient and outpatient programs to meet the need of each individual.
Texas Health offers a variety of behavioral health care services across North Texas. For more information on the program, visit TexasHealth.org/Plano or call 972-981-8305.
