Volunteers Make Stockings For Newborns at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Allen 12/20/2011
ALLEN, Texas — Newborns at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Allen are equipped for the holiday season before they even go home, thanks to the efforts of hospital volunteers.
Volunteers Kathy Carothers and Linda Gleason handmade the 60 stockings specifically to fit the newborns. Avery Flores of Allen was the first baby to receive a stocking after she was born on Dec. 8.
“I just really like helping people along with sewing and quilting,” Carothers said. “I love babies and it makes me feel good to be part of their holidays and doing something special for the families.”
