Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital HEB Appoints New Medical Director for Emergency Medicine|
BEDFORD, Texas — Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Hurst-Euless-Bedford has named Melissa Johnson, M.D., as medical director of emergency services.
In her new role, Johnson will work to continue to drive clinical integration, advance quality and patient safety and improve overall patient satisfaction. Johnson also plans to increase the level of culturally competent care of emergency physicians through ongoing education opportunities.
“Dr. Johnson is an invaluable asset to the hospital,” said Deborah Paganelli, FACHE, president of Texas Health HEB. “I know she will assume her new role with dedication and commitment and continue to build upon the wide scope of emergency services offered by our hospital.”
Johnson joined the medical staff at Texas Health HEB in 2006. She previously served as an emergency medicine physician at Saint Elizabeth Regional Medical Center. She received a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas Christian University and a medical degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
She is a member of the American College of Emergency Physicians, the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Care Medicine, and the Tarrant County Medical Society.
The emergency department at Texas Health HEB cares for more than 60,000 patients each year. Under the direction of Johnson, the hospital hopes to achieve Level III trauma designation in late 2012.
