Chief Nursing Officer Named at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Alliance|
FORT WORTH, Texas — Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Alliance administrators have appointed Kendra Slatton, R.N., M.S.N., C.D.E., as the hospital's chief nursing officer. Slatton has more than 22 years of progressive management and nursing leadership experience in acute care hospital settings.

In her new role, Slatton will oversee the strategic, operational, clinical and financial performance of nursing services for Texas Health Alliance, a new full-service hospital scheduled to open in September in North Fort Worth.
Slatton has served as the chief nursing officer for East Texas Medical Center Athens in Athens, Texas, since August 2010. She was the chief nursing officer for Permian Regional Medical Center in Andrews, Texas, from September 2001 until August 2010. There she served as a key facilitator in designing and implementing the nurse documentation system, order entry, and electronic medication administration records with bedside medication verification and helped lead the effort for electronic medical record adoption. She also worked at Hendrick Health System in Abilene, Texas, as director of education from 1995 until 2001, staff development coordinator from 1994 to 1995, and staff nurse from 1989 until 1994.
Slatton earned a bachelor's degree in nursing from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas, and a master's degree in nursing from Abilene Christian University. She is a part-time instructor for the University of Phoenix’s online leadership classes for B.S.N., M.S.N. and M.H.A. programs. She has served as a part-time diabetes educator for Texas Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services — Division for Blind Services and Hendrick Health System. She has a passion for improving the health of the community.
She is a board member of the Texas Organization of Nurse Executives and a member of the Texas Board of Nursing Advisory Committee on Education.
