Harris Methodist Southwest Names New Director of Critical Care and Medical/Surgical Services

FORT WORTH, Texas — Harris Methodist Southwest Hospital administrators have announced the appointment of Gretchen Hunt, M.S.N., R.N., C.N.S., C.C.R.N., as director of critical care and medical/surgical services.

Hunt’s background includes 18 years of critical care nursing and nursing leadership experience and five years in clinical education.

In her new role as director, Hunt will be responsible for operations, staffing, strategic planning and fiscal management for critical care and medical/surgical services.

Hunt previously served as the director of clinical education at Harris Methodist Fort Worth Hospital. She joined the hospital staff in 1994 as a nurse in the cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and was promoted to nurse manager a year later. In 2004, she joined the clinical education department as an education specialist. She was promoted to manager of the department in 2006.

Hunt received an associate’s degree in nursing from Western Oklahoma State Junior College in 1986. She earned a master's degree in nursing from Texas Christian University in 2004. She is a member of the National Nurses Staff Development Organization and the Texas Nurses Association.
