Gary Wallace Appointed Director of HMSW Emergency Department, Nursing Operations/Outcomes and Nursing Quality 09/26/2008

FORT WORTH, Texas — Harris Methodist Southwest Hospital administrators have appointed Gary Wallace, R.N., M.H.S.M., C.C.R.N., as director of the emergency department, nursing operations/outcomes and nursing quality. Wallace brings 18 years of leadership in critical care services to the position.
In his new role as director, Wallace will oversee the emergency department and implement operations improvement projects for the delivery, efficiency, and outcome of patient care services.
Most recently, Wallace served three years as director of critical care services, the intensive care unit, the progressive care unit and telemetry unit for the hospital. During that time, he coordinated efforts to increase critical care services through hospital expansion projects that increased bed capacity from 31 to 90 beds.
Before that, he managed the critical care and hemodialysis unit at Harris Methodist H•E•B Hospital from 1990 until 2005.
Wallace earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1981. He later received a Master of Health Services Management degree from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in 2002.
