Harris Methodist Walls Regional Hospital Provides Home Monitoring System 03/06/2005
CLEBURNE, Texas – Is it hard for you to leave the house for a doctor's visit? If you qualify for home health services at Harris Methodist Walls Regional Hospital, the Home Monitoring System is for you.
The clinical staff at Walls Regional Hospital's Home Health Services has adopted a safe and easy method for those with congestive heart failure and hypertension to check vitals in the comfort of their own home. With the simple push of a button, the information is sent directly to the home health agency through a cable modem.
The multi-lingual Home Monitoring System is compared to an alarm clock, calling to patients when it is time to check their vital signs. After stepping on the scale, then sitting in a chair to check blood pressure and oxygen saturation levels, the patient answers “yes” or “no” to no more than 10 programmed questions concerning their medical status based on individual needs. The patients' status is monitored daily by a health nurse, who is able to contact the patients' physician or send a nurse to the patients' home if necessary.
The Home Monitoring System is provided to those who are currently in the care of home health services at Walls Regional. A dedicated team of professionals works together with the patients' physicians, nurses and rehabilitation centers to customize each treatment to patients in the Cleburne, South Fort Worth and surrounding areas. Home Health Services strives to help each individual become more independent and healthy.
