McCabe Receives HEB Chamber Honor
09/22/2004

BEDFORD, Texas – Jack McCabe, MS, MBA, president and CEO of Harris Methodist H•E•B Hospital, received the Clyde Mooney Award from the HEB Chamber of Commerce at its annual awards banquet Sept. 18.

The Clyde Mooney Award is the highest honor bestowed by the chamber.

“The award is named after the chamber’s first chairman and honors a person who has shown exceptional leadership in the Hurst-Euless-Bedford community,” said Mary Martin Frazior, president and CEO of the HEB Chamber of Commerce.

“The award recognizes broad community service that includes, but is not limited to, the chamber,” Frazior said. “It is the highest award the chamber bestows and is not presented every year.”

McCabe has been on the HEB Chamber Board of Directors for nine years and is currently the treasurer. He has also served as division chairman and chairman of the board.

“He gives generously of his time not only to the HEB Chamber of Commerce, but to other organizations such as the American Heart Association, the AIDS Outreach Center and the City of Bedford Planning and Zoning Commission,” Frazior said.

Prior to being named president of Harris Methodist H•E•B Hospital in 1996, McCabe served as the hospital’s vice president of operations and clinical services. He holds a master's of science degree in health care administration from Trinity University in San Antonio as well as a master's of business administration degree from National University in San Diego, Calif.
