ARLINGTON, Texas — For the fifth year in a row, employees of Texas Health Resources and the 13 hospitals in its health care system will collect nonperishable food items to benefit local charities.
The annual event, known as “Catch the CAN-Do Spirit — Stock the Shelves 2002,” runs Aug. 19-30 throughout the THR system. Officials have set a systemwide goal of 100,000 nonperishable items.
Each of the system’s 13 hospitals has established its own food drive goal and beneficiary of the food.
Last year, employees of Texas Health Resources donated 88,500 food items to 25 social service agencies and food pantries throughout North Texas.
