Prostate Cancer Resource Center Planned for HMFW

FORT WORTH, Texas — Aiming to be a one-stop source for men’s health care and critical resource information, Harris Methodist Fort Worth Hospital recently announced plans to create a Prostate Cancer Resource Center.

Logistics are under way after receiving vital community feedback during a December breakfast with 60 men from the community and financial commitments from donors.

"The response we received was overwhelmingly supportive," said Doug White, vice president for the Harris Methodist Hospital Foundation. "The center promises to offer prostate cancer education, outreach, support and consultation services to men across Tarrant County and surrounding areas."

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Klabzuba have made a $105,000 pledge toward the center in the form of a "challenge grant," which will be realized if the Harris Methodist Hospital Foundation raises an equal amount in matching funds by June 30. The initial $210,000 goal represents the financial needs for the center’s first year of operation.
