“Great 100 Nurses” Honors Nine from HMHEB

BEDFORD, Texas – Harris Methodist H•E•B Hospital is proud to have nine nurses named “2005Great 100 Nurses,” more than any other Tarrant County health care organization.

Harris Methodist H•E•B Hospital has always known these exemplary nurses went above and beyond to care for their patients, showing kindness and compassion while helping them heal. Now, thanks to the Great 100 Nurses Celebration, they are getting the recognition they deserve. “Our nurses are among the very best, and we are truly blessed to have nine of them recognized this year,” said Bob Lumpkins, RN, vice president of patient care services. Harris Methodist H•E•B Hospital's Great 100 Nurses include:

  • David Cox, R.N., nursing administration
  • Lori Donovan, R.N., main operating room
  • Vicky Gerdes, R.N., critical care unit
  • Gracy James, R.N., Tower 4 (medical/surgical)
  • Stella Kohn, R.N., Medical/Surgical West
  • Rita Lindbom, R.N., Medical/Surgical West
  • Mary Powell, R.N., labor and delivery
  • Meagen Stillwagoner, R.N., Emergency Department
  • Phyllis Sullivan, R.N., Senior Center

The Great 100 Nurses Celebration honors 100 nurses in the Dallas-Fort Worth area who exemplify excellence in the art and science of nursing. The courage, compassion, and commitment of these registered nurses have made a significant contribution to health care in the community.

The Great 100 Nurses Celebration is held annually by the Texas Nurses Association, Districts Three and Four, and the Dallas-Fort Worth Hospital Council. A reception honoring the awardees will be held Wednesday, May 11 from 6:30 to 10:00 p.m. at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas.
