HMHEB Offers Support For Grieving Parents
09/05/2007

BEDFORD, Texas — Harris Methodist H•E•B Hospital now offers a support group especially for parents who have lost children through miscarriage, stillbirth or infant death. SHARE (Source of Help in Airing and Resolving Experiences) is a national non-profit, non-denominational group that holds regular group meetings with emphasis on discussion topics that promote healthy grieving.

Parents who have experienced the loss of a baby and want to talk, no matter how much or how little time has passed, are encouraged to attend. SHARE provides parents with:

  • Someone to listen, who has been through the same experience;
  • Resources for parents and the extended family;
  • Opportunities to commemorate important anniversaries;
  • Access to SHARE’s national newsletter for bereaved parents; and
  • Opportunity for helping other parents as you heal yourself.

SHARE meets at Harris Methodist H•E•B Hospital on the first and third Thursdays of every month at 6:30 p.m. in the Pastoral Care Office, located on the second floor. One-on-one support is also available when needed. For more information about SHARE, please call group leader Lynne Moffatt at 817-571-2420 or the Harris Methodist H•E•B Hospital Pastoral Care Department at 817-685-4811.

Beginning Thursday, October 4, the Harris Methodist H•E•B Hospital Pastoral Care Department will hold quarterly pregnancy and infant memorial services at 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. in the hospital chapel in the main lobby. The next memorial services will be held in 2008 on January 3, April 3 and July 5. Both SHARE and the memorial services are free and open to the public.
