HMHEB Hosts Its Annual Women’s Retreat, Fit to a Tea 01/10/2007 BEDFORD, Texas – Harris Methodist H•E•B Hospital is hosting its annual women's retreat, Fit to a Tea, on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2007 at the Embassy Suites Hotel Outdoor World in Grapevine. The keynote speaker is Deborah Kern, Ph.D., who will share The Girlfriend's Guide to Weight, Food, Body Image, Energy and Sexuality.
Sponsored by the Women's Advisory Board at Harris Methodist H•E•B Hospital, Fit to a Tea begins with a comprehensive health fair, including fitness testing, aromatherapy, massage therapy, and screenings for bone density, cholesterol, glucose and blood pressure. Highlights of the breakout sessions include:
“I'm not Mrs. Cleaver,” a discussion of childhood and adolescent behavior;
“Healthy Eating – Quick, Easy and Reasonable,” including a cooking demonstration;
“It's only a Freckle,” a discussion on what signs of sun damage and skin cancer to watch for;
Cardiac rehabilitation and fitness;
“Fit to a Tea Party” with Janice Gale;
“How to Defend Yourself Like a Lady” with Dale Lockwood; and
Mandarin Hand Therapy.
The cost to attend Fit to a Tea is $30. To register or for more information, please call 1-888-4-HARRIS. The health fair runs from 7 to 10 a.m., followed by Dr. Kern from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Lunch and the breakout sessions are slated from noon to 5 p.m.

The 2007 retreat is chaired by Patti Tennery of Colleyville. The Women's Advisory Board is led by chair Winnie Wayne, also of Colleyville. Fit to a Tea is a part of Healthy Women, Healthy Lives, a community wellness program of Harris Methodist Hospitals.
