BEDFORD, Texas – Harris Methodist H•E•B Hospital named Saginaw's Jim McClanahan, RN, EMT-P, clinical coordinator in the emergency department, as the 2005 Employee of the Year. Lewisville's Sharon Harris, director of the laboratory, was named the 2005 Manager of Excellence and Grapevine's Jennifer Williams, RN, manager of the nursery and neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) was named the Nurse Manager of Excellence for 2005. The awards were announced at the hospital's annual Employee Recognition Reception Dec. 15.
The Employees of the Year were selected from a group of 2005 Employee Recognition Winners given quarterly. Any hospital employee can be nominated by physicians on the medical staff, other employees, patients, families or volunteers. The Manager and Nurse Manager of Excellence were selected by the executive leadership team from nominations submitted by hospital employees.
McClanahan received a cash award, reserved parking in the spot of his choice for a year, a meal a day in the hospital cafeteria for one year, introduction to the hospital's Board of Trustees and a special identification badge recognizing him as the Employee of the Year. The Manager and Nurse Manager of Excellence received a cash award, and a pin for their identification badges recognizing them as Managers of Excellence.
