Patsy Youngs Named Acting President at Presbyterian Hospital of Winnsboro|
WINNSBORO, Texas — Presbyterian Hospital of Winnsboro (PHW) has named Patsy Youngs as its acting president. She starts her new role on Jan. 1, 2009.
Youngs has served in a number of leadership positions since beginning her health care career more than 30 years ago as a registered nurse. She is currently president of Presbyterian Hospital of Kaufman (PHK), a position she will continue to hold.
Prior to joining the staff at PHK, Youngs was an administrator of Presbyterian Hospital of Commerce and chief operating officer of Hunt Memorial Hospital District (HMHD).
“Patsy Youngs brings to PHW a solid clinical, operational and leadership background and broad-based experience in a diverse group of health care organizations in both nonprofit and for-profit settings,” said Stephen C. Hanson, senior executive vice president of system alignment and performance for Texas Health Resources. “She will provide strong leadership during this time of transition.”
Before joining Presbyterian Hospital of Kaufman in 2006, Youngs served in leadership roles with HMHD and worked in management positions at Columbia Bay Area Medical Center in Corpus Christi, Texas, St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington, La., and Mercy Hospital in New Orleans.
She earned a diploma in nursing from Touro Infirmary School of Nursing in New Orleans, a master of business administration from Florida Institute of Technology’s New Orleans campus and a bachelor of science in health science from Holy Cross College, also in New Orleans.
“I am excited to work with the staff at Winnsboro,” Youngs said. “As we continue to incorporate elements of Texas Health’s 10-Year Strategic Plan, we will be able to take advantage of recent successes to continue to enhance the services at Presbyterian Hospital of Winnsboro.”
Youngs has been an active member of the community, serving as president of the Northeast Children’s Museum in Commerce, as well as serving many other civic and professional organizations.
Youngs has six children and four grandchildren. She and her husband Ike have been married for 26 years. They are both active in the Lions Club and Rotary Club and love shopping for antiques. They currently reside in Kaufman.
