Gov. Rick Perry Appoints Texas Health Arlington Memorial Anesthesiologist to Texas Medical Board|
ARLINGTON, Texas — Gov. Rick Perry appointed Scott Holliday, D.O., chairman of Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital’s department of anesthesiology, to the Texas Medical Board.
The board regulates the practice of medicine in Texas to promote quality health care for its residents. Holliday replaced Dr. Roberta Kalafut of Abilene for a term that will end April 13, 2013.
“It is an honor to have been appointed by Gov. Perry to serve the state of Texas in this capacity and I look forward to working with the other members of the Texas Medical Board," Holliday said.
Holliday received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin and a doctor of osteopathic medicine degree from the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. He completed his anesthesiology residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.
He is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the Texas Osteopathic Medical Association, and the Texas Medical Association. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiology and the Texas Society of Anesthesiologists District 2 State Delegate.
