Presbyterian Healthcare Foundation Appoints New President|
DALLAS — Texas Health Resources Chief Executive Officer Douglas D. Hawthorne, FACHE, together with the Board of Trustees of Presbyterian Healthcare Foundation, have promoted James K. (Jay) McAuley, CFRE, to president of Presbyterian Healthcare Foundation. McAuley brings nearly 20 years of development and donor relations experience to the position.
As president of Presbyterian Healthcare Foundation, McAuley will administer a resource development plan for charitable giving and will work with the Board of Trustees to meet the Foundation’s legal and fiduciary responsibilities and support the mission of Presbyterian entities. In addition, McAuley will be responsible for managing the Foundation’s financial operations, including the annual budget, investment of assets and receipt and acknowledgment of gifts.
McAuley, who recently served as vice president of strategy and special initiatives for Presbyterian Healthcare Foundation, directed the most successful fundraising campaign ever undertaken for Presbyterian Healthcare System, called Legacy of Care Campaign, which involved funding several capital expansion projects and special initiatives for three of the busiest hospital campuses in the system. The Foundation raised approximately $89 million, nearly 130 percent of its goal. As a result of the campaign, Presbyterian Hospitals of Allen, Dallas and Plano have improved services and programs to meet the needs of the communities they serve.
Prior to joining Presbyterian Healthcare Foundation, McAuley was director of development and head football coach at St. Mark’s School of Texas, where he oversaw individual gifts for the Campaign for St. Mark’s. Prior to that, McAuley was a petroleum engineer for seven years.
“Our Board of Trustees unanimously agrees that Jay McAuley is the best fit for the position as president of Presbyterian Healthcare Foundation,” said Eddie Freeman, chair of the Presbyterian Healthcare Foundation Board of Trustees. “He has great experience and sharp knowledge of Presbyterian and the community, and we feel that he will be instrumental in taking the Foundation to the next level of excellence.”
