Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Stephenville Offers Blessing of the Hands|
STEPHENVILLE, Texas — Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Stephenville Chaplain Mike Hannah recently performed the blessing of the hands for Jennifer McMeens, R.N., clinical educator, and Melissa Townley, medical staff coordinator.
Hannah has been performing the annual blessing of the hands for hospital employees and physicians on the medical staff.
“The annual blessing is a nice way for our staff to reconnect spiritually and to focus on the meaning behind the work they do each day,” Hannah said. “Offering the blessing to our employees is a nice way to recognize our hospital’s faith-based tradition, while at the same time recognizing all faiths.”
The blessing says “May the work of your hands be a blessing to you and all those around you;
May the God who formed these hands use them to bring grace and life to this Community; God bless these hands to be instruments of your care and healing.”
