Texas Health Dallas Partners with Komen to Provide Mammograms to Uninsured, Underinsured in Dallas County
08/27/2010

DALLAS — Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas and Susan G. Komen for the Cure Dallas are pleased to introduce the SEARCH Program, which provides free screening mammograms to uninsured and underinsured women residing in Dallas County.

SEARCH (screening, education, assessment, registered nurse, consultation, help) is designed to remove common barriers of cost, lack of opportunity, lack of knowledge, fear, language differences and lack of transportation—all listed as primary reasons that uninsured or underinsured women do not seek annual mammogram screenings.

The free screening, counseling, education and assessment will take place at the Peggy A. Bell Women’s Diagnostic and Breast Center at Texas Health Dallas. Those who qualify will also be given free round-trip transportation through DART. For more information or a SEARCH application, call 214-345-2598.
