Texas Health Resources won national honors with presentation of the prestigious 10th annual eHealthcare Leadership Awards, sponsored by Strategic Healthcare Communications. The competition drew more than 1,000 entries from a wide range of healthcare organizations competing in 17 classifications and 12 different award categories. Judges in the Healthcare System division honored TexasHealth.org with a Silver Award in the categories of Best Overall Internet Site and Best Health/Healthcare Content. The presentations took place at the Thirteenth Annual Healthcare Internet Conference, Nov. 2-4 in Las Vegas.
Texas Health Resources received the Best Employers for Healthy Lifestyles award from the National Business Group on Health. The award recognizes the nation's leading corporations for innovative programs that promote a healthy workplace and for helping employees and their families make better choices about their health and well-being. Texas Health was among 63 employers nationally to receive the award this year. It was presented June 24 in Washington D.C., during the Joint Summit of the Institutes on Health Care Costs and Solutions & the Costs and Health Effects of Obesity.
2008
- Texas Health Resources received two awards for its Web site, TexasHealth.org, in the 12th annual eHealthcare Leadership Awards, presented by eHealthcare Strategy & Trends. Texas Health was awarded a Gold Award for "Best Newsroom" and the Distinction Award for "Best eBusiness Site."
- Texas Helth Presbyterian Hospital Plano received the 2008 Texas Award for Performance Excellence (T.A.P.E.), the state's highest honor for quality and organizational performance. Texas Health Plano was the first health care facility in Collin County to receive the prestigious honor and the fourth in Texas.
- Twenty-six registered nurses across Texas Health's 13-hospital system were designated this year as "Great 100 Nurses." The list of "Great 100 Nurses" is selected each year by the Texas Nurses' Association.
- Texas Health Plano joined the ranks of famed dining establishments as a recipient of the restaurant industry's prestigious Ivy Award, a coveted accolade bestowed annually by Restaurants and Institutions magazine to a select group of restaurants, hotels and noncommercial food operators that exemplify the highest standards of excellence in food and service.
- The Texas Dietetic Association named Amy Goodson, a registered dietitian at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth, as a Recognized Young Dietitian of the Year. The award is bestowed each year to five dietitians under the age of 35 who are making significant contributions to the field of nutrition and dietetics.
- Texas Health Plano was named a Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence, one of the highest distinctions for U.S. weight-loss surgery programs, by the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.
- The Mabee Rehabilitation Center at Texas Health Fort Worth received accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Services (CARF) for its inpatient and outpatient stroke rehabilitation specialty services.
- Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Southwest Fort Worth received the Five-Star Hospital Award from the Bureau of Vital Statistics at the Texas Department of State Health Services for the sixth time. The award recognizes hospitals and birthing centers for excellence in registering birth certificates with the state.
- A textbook edited by Dr. Mark Feldman, chair of the department of internal medicine at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas and director of the hospital's internal medicine residency program, was named the world's top gastroenterology book by the British Medical Association.
2007
- In November 2007, Presbyterian Hospital of Plano receives the Magnet designation for excellence in nursing, the nation's highest honor for nursing excellence, from the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
- HMWR receives the 2007 Premier | CareScience Select Practice National Quality Award, placing the hospital in the top 1 percent of acute-care inpatient facilities in the nation.
- HMWR earns the 2007 Quality Award from Premier, placing it among the nation's top-performing facilities achieving the highest measures of clinical quality while reducing the cost of care.
- THR becomes a 2007 recipient of the Texas Health Care Quality Improvement Award from the TMF Health Quality Institute, the Medicare quality improvement organization for Texas. The award recognizes hospitals for improving from their initial baseline performance on specific quality measures related to acute myocardial infarction (heart attack), heart failure and pneumonia.
- The Quality and Patient Safety section of TexasHealth.org earns national recognition for the second consective year at the recent 2007 eHealthcare Leadership Awards with silver honors in the category of Best Quality Communications.
- In July 2007 Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas is recognized as a U.S. News and World Report Best Hospital for Digestive Disorders, Neurology and Neurosurgery and Orthopedics specialties.
- In July 2007 THR is named one of the 100 Most Wired hospitals for the eighth time in nine years by Hospital & Health Networks, the journal of the American Hospital Association. THR is also named a finalist for the Innovator Award for two projects.
- Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas is designated a Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence by the American Society of Bariatric Surgery (ASBS), one of the highest distinctions for weight-loss surgery programs in the United States.
- In May 2007, the Quality and Patient Safety section of TexasHealth.org earns silver honors from the Aster Awards Program which recognizes health care organizations who strive for excellence in medical marketing.
- In April 2007, the Texas Nurses Association names 36 nurses on staff at Texas Health Resources (THR) hospitals to its annual list of "Great 100 Nurses." The THR total represents more nurses than any other Metroplex hospital system.
- In April 2007, HMFW is the first to be accredited as a primary stroke center in Fort Worth by the Joint Commission and the first to earn the Gold Seal of ApprovalTM, demonstrating a commitment to national best practices in stroke care.
- The Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons names the Harris Methodist Fort Worth Hospital Klabzuba Cancer Center an approved comprehensive community cancer program, ranking it among the best cancer treatment facilities in the country based on the results of the commission survey.
- The consumer Web site of Texas Health Resources, TexasHealth.org is reaffirmed for full accreditation with URAC, a Washington D.C.-based health care accrediting organization that establishes quality standards for the health care industry. The site remains the only one in Texas to hold the distinguished accreditation, which signifies the organization's continued commitment to quality and accountability.
- Texas Health Resources is named to the 2007 Verispan IHN 100® list, the 10th edition of Verispan's annual assessment of the 100 most highly integrated healthcare networks (IHNs). The 2007 edition identifies the top 100 IHNs in the current universe of 570 non-specialty, local and regional networks in the United States that meet critical success factors. The rating is based on Verispan's IHN Rating SystemTM, which evaluates each network's ability to operate as a unified organization in each of eight categories: integration, integrated technology, contractual capabilities, outpatient utilization, financial stability, services and access, hospital utilization, and physicians.

- Harris Methodist Fort Worth Hospital leaders and clinicians along with their counterparts from LifeGift Organ Donation Center receive a Medal of Honor during an Organ Donation Breakthrough Collaborative learning congress in May 2005.
- In May 2005 Harris Methodist Fort Worth Hospital is named a winner of the prestigious Premier Award for Quality in the area of heart failure. This nationally-recognized award honors clinical excellence in both quality of care and operational efficiency, differentiating its winners as industry leaders that deliver outstanding patient care while reducing the cost of healthcare by improving resource utilization.
- TexasHealth.org is the only health care site based in Texas to currently hold URAC Health Web Site accreditation. URAC, an independent, nonprofit organization, offers a wide range of quality benchmarking programs and services that keep pace with the rapid changes in health care, and provides a symbol of excellence for organizations to validate their commitment to quality and accountability.
- Harris Methodist H•E•B Hospital is named Corporate Business of the Year by the Southlake Chamber of Commerce at its annual awards banquet March 1, 2005.

- Texas Health Resources is named one of the "100 Most Wired" companies by Hospitals & Health Networks magazine for six consecutive years.
- TexasHealth.org is the only North Texas hospital system honored in the Spring 2004 World Wide Web Health Awards competition, earning a bronze citation for its emphasis on patient education.
- The THR Video Communications department wins Bronze Finalist awards at the 25th Annual Telly Awards in 2004 for producing "It's About Time: Presbyterian Hospital of Plano" and "Texas Health Reports: VIRC." Dennis Johnson and Larry DeBoever wrote and produced both entries. The Plano piece features short stories about patients who received care "just in time" at the hospital, while the 90-second VIRC commercial highlights accomplishments at the Vascular Interventional Radiology Center at Harris Methodist Fort Worth Hospital. The Telly Awards is a national competition to showcase outstanding commercials, film and video production that draws more than 10,000 entries annually.
- In February 2004, the Harris Methodist Southwest Hospital Respiratory Care Department is named a "quality respiratory care provider" for the second year in a row by the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC), which launched the Quality Respiratory Care Recognition (QRCR) program in 2003 to help consumers make informed choices about their health care.
- TexasHealth.org earns an Honorable Mention for the Best Overall Hospital/Health System in the 2004 COR Health Medicine on the Net Web Excellence Awards.
