The Lymphedema Clinic offers therapy for cancer and lymphedema patients, including reconditioning, education and a complete lymphatic draining program conducted by a therapist certified for manual lymph drainage.
Patients must receive a referral from a physician to begin the program. The first visit consists of an evaluation by a licensed physical therapist. During the first appointment a therapy schedule will be established. Therapy generally lasts from four to six weeks. Each treatment session may last up to an hour and a half and includes manual lymph drainage, compression bandaging, therapeutic exercise and education. Evaluations and therapies take place in individual rooms to provide comfort and privacy.
Patient treatment is supervised by Kelly Bailey, M.P.T., C.L.T., who is certified in manual lymph drainage (Vodder Technique) and complete decongestive therapy by the Academy of Lymphatic Studies.
