Support Groups

Amputee Support Group: A support group for amputees and their families. This group meets at 7 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of the month in the Robb Rutledge Education Center. For more information, please call 817-907-1215.

Aphasia Support Group: A support group for patients and families who have experienced a loss of communication skills following a stroke, brain injury or disease. This group meets at 11:30 a.m. on the third Friday of each month in the Robb Rutledge Education Center. For more information, please call 817-250-3154.

Better Breather Club: A support group for patients and families with chronic lung problems, including emphysema, bronchitis and asthma. Meets at 1 p.m. on the first Wednesday of the month. Lunch is provided. For more information, please call 817-882-3972.

Cardiac Support Group: Meets quarterly. For more information, call the Cardiac Rehabilitation department at 817-878-5055.

Diabetes Support Group: A support group for those with diabetes and their families. Provides information, inspiration and encouragement. Meets at 7:30 p.m. on the fourth Thursday of the month in the Robb Rutledge Education Center. For more information, please call 817-250-3646.

HOPES (Helping Our Parents Experiencing Sorrow) meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. in the Pastoral Care Library on the first floor of the Harris Tower. Contact Chaplain Tricia Dimmitt at 817-250-2092 for more information.   

Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator Support Group: A program for sharing information and experiences among people with ICDs and their families. Times, dates and locations vary. For more information, please call 817-250-2499.

Grief Support Group: Have you lost a loved one recently? The holidays and special occasions can be overwhelming and difficult when we are in the midst of grieving a loss.  Come join us on A Journey through Grief, a free three-week seminar/support group. Grief is a journey. Come find fellow sojourners on Monday nights, Nov. 30, Dec. 7 and Dec. 14 at the Robb Rutledge Education Center Plaza Level, Conference Room 4. NeoNatal ICU Parent Group meets every Tuesday at 6 p.m. Supper is provided. Check in with the NeoNatal Reception area to confirm the location of the group. Call Chaplain Denise Hill at 817-250-2092 for more information.

Renal Transplant Program Kidney Support Group: A support group for dialysis and transplant patients, family and friends. This group meets at 7 p.m. in the Education Center on the second Tuesday of each month. For more information, please call 817-250-2443 or 800-411-2443.

Stroke Folks: Formed in 2002 and led by Marc Stephens, a stroke survivor, Stroke Folks helps survivors and their loved ones understand the physical and emotional changes accompanying a stroke and promote the healing process. Monthly newsletters are sent to participants providing information about the program and topics to be covered in the upcoming meetings. Stroke Folks meets at 4 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month in the Sid Richardson Tower, third floor, dining room. For more information, please call 817-250-4991 or 817-250-3727.

The Weight Loss Surgery Program provides patient support groups on the first Thursday of every month. Meetings are held from 6 to 7 p.m. in the Education Center.
