Health care media reported that Texas Health Resources received a 2012 Most Wired Innovator Award from Hospital & Health Networks magazine. Texas Health was recognized for using technology to help prevent catheter-associated urinary tract infection. Texas Health was also named to H&HN’s annual list of the Most Wired hospitals and health systems, making the list for the 12th time in 14 years. An article also appeared in Healthcare IT News.
Texas Health Cleburne in Cleburne Times-Review
Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Cleburne recently earned Chest Pain Center accreditation and was featured in an article in the Cleburne Times-Review. Implemented by the Society of Chest Pain Centers, the goal of the designation is to highlight health care facilities that continuously and significantly reduce the mortality rate of cardiac care patients. Marvin Cloud, R.N., Texas Health Cleburne’s Chest Pain Center program coordinator, and Dr. David Lunow, the hospital’s Chest Pain Center medical director, were quoted.
Texas Health Kaufman in Athens Daily Review
A story about the new palliative care center at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Kaufman appeared in the Athens Daily Review. The program includes a suite next to the patient room for family to stay nearby their loved one. The patient room features home-like decorations and a peaceful view of the Kaufman countryside. Nurses, chaplains, physicians and other hospital personnel are trained to optimize comfort with safe and effective management of pain and changing symptoms. The story included quotes from Denise Claussen, chief nursing officer, and Patsy Youngs, hospital president.
Texas Health Dallas in Preston Hollow People
The Greer Garson Gala benefiting women’s and infants’ services at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas, held in April, was mentioned in the July 6 edition of Preston Hollow People. The hospital’s annual gala is a fundraiser organized by the Texas Health Presbyterian Foundation.
