Harris Methodist Springwood Hospital has been seeing record numbers of patients in the last two months, all reporting significant stress from the financial strain they're facing, Osburn said.
HMEC in Stephenville Empire-Tribune
Harris Methodist Erath County Hospital’s Power of Pink Women’s Luncheon and Seminar was featured in the Stephenville Empire-Tribune. The story promoted the event, which will be held Oct. 14. The paper also featured a photograph of the four scarecrows created by hospital employees which are guarding the hospital’s Belknap Lobby entrance this month.
PHD Oncologist on KXAS-TV
Dr. Jivesh Sharma, an oncologist at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas, was interviewed on KXAS-TV (Channel 5) during the 10 p.m. newscast. Sharma spoke about the validity of new genetic tests for the most common forms of breast cancer. Currenty, the most widely-endorsed genetic tests for breast cancer identify a gene variant that accounts for only a small percentage of breast cancers. Sharma says these new tests have promise, but their ability to accurately predict a woman's chance of getting breast cancer has not been proven.
