KXAS-TV interviews PHP/PHA physician for upcoming story

KXAS-TV (Channel 5) interviewed Dr. Peter Schochet, a pediatric pulmonologist at Presbyterian Hospitals of Plano and Allen, for an upcoming story for "Your Child's Health." The story, scheduled to air in the next couple of weeks, is about asthma and its symptoms, as well as how high-ozone levels affect kids with asthma.

PHP mentioned in Dallas Morning News

Presbyterian Hospital of Plano is mentioned in a May 23 article in The Dallas Morning News about the demolition and planned reconstruction of My Friend's House, a new facility that will provide emergency care for children who have been removed from their homes due to abuse, neglect or abandonment. Recent storms damaged the facility before construction was completed. PHP has hosted a weeklong "baby shower" for My Friend's House, collecting merchandise and donations from employees and hospital visitors.

BabyDallas story features two PHD physicians

The summer issue of BabyDallas magazine includes two stories that include expert medical advice from doctors at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas. Dr. Christopher Dreiling, a pediatrician at PHD, is quoted in a story about organic and environmentally-friendly baby products. Dr. Van Miller, a pediatric neurologist at PHD, is quoted in a story about brain development in children. "Sometimes (trendy brain-builder toys) overcomplicate what babies need, which is simply an attentive parent who plays, reads, talks and sings to them," Dr. Miller is quoted as saying.

PHD's Joyce Bass quoted in Nurses' Lounge story about oncology nursing

The current issue of Nurses' Lounge magazine includes a feature story about oncology nursing. The article includes comments from Joyce Bass, R.N., nurse manager of the oncology unit at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas. In the story, Bass is quoted as saying it takes a special breed of nurses to care for cancer patients.

Star-Telegram covers HMHEB celebration of EMS Week

Harris Methodist HEB Hospital’s Emergency Department celebrated EMS Week this week with daily cookouts for local paramedics and firefighters. This annual event celebrates the vital collaboration between EMS and the emergency department. The Star-Telegram covered the event on May 23.

KRLD-AM interviews PHD's Rauen

Tracey Rauen, family education coordinator at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas, was interviewed this week by KRLD-AM (1080) news radio for a story about the need for parents to be cautious and attentive as temperatures begin soaring into the high 90s and triple digits this summer. Tracey spoke about the dangers of a leaving a child in a parked car, where temperatures can eclipse 140 degrees in a matter of minutes.
